Long Bed Lathe We have taken delivery of a long bed lathe from Inverurie Loco Works, on loan from member Ben Sinclair. It was made by Scottish toolmakers John Lang and Sons, Johnstone, recognised for their high-quality, well-designed machines (they ceased to be an independent manufacturer in the 1960’s).

Original Inspection Pit In summer 2023 we made an interesting discovery at the northern end of the engine shed hall. Excavations revealed over 60 feet of original inspection pit that is largely intact. It has a cambered brick floor to allow drainage and brick walls up to 2ft in height.
